The Sacred Way

The mists part and the isle I see,

Its distant shores beckoning me.

Not as a priestess or one of the Fey,

But as a Guardian, protector of the Sacred Way.

Divine Source

Ask any Christian what the name of their supreme deity is and they will tell you God, Jesus Christ, or both.  Ask any Muslim the name of theirs and they will say Allah.  Ask anyone of the Jewish faith and you will hear Tetrgrammaton YHWH or Yahweh.  Ask a person who follows a nature-based path, and they will rattle off a long list of Gods and Goddesses, depending on the pantheon they follow.  I could go on and list a plethora of other religions and the names used, but you get the point.

What you will not hear, when asking this question is this, the God of Christianity is the same God of Islam.  The God of Islam is the same as the Jewish God.  The Jewish God is the same as all the pagan Gods/Goddesses.  All are different names for the God/Goddess of Divine Source.

Oops, I see some of your brains spinning, some of your faces turning red at my description of Divine Source as being both God and Goddess.  But, ask yourself this, if we are created in the image of the Divine, they wouldn’t that mean the Divine must both be male and female energy?  Whether you want to believe it or not, Universal Energy or Divine Source, no matter what name you recognize, is both masculine and feminine energy.  And, we come from this Divine Source, carry a piece of it within us, which means we also carry masculine and feminine energy, no matter what gender we are born with.

For too many years, humans have fought over which religion contains the “One True God” when the truth of the matter is all religions are based on Divine Source, but are called different names.  The problem is, religion, all of them, don’t want to recognize that, because then they would no longer have a way to control the masses.  Yes, another thing humans don’t want to hear, especially those in charge, religion is a means of control.

You see, The Way has always been predicated on living a life of goodness, service to others, compassion, and kindness.  When the first humans took shape and form, they lived in communities, shared what they had among their tribes, communities.  No one went hungry, they helped each other when one was sick, they clothed each other.  They weren’t in competition, for they knew if one did well, they all did well.

Then time passed and humans got away from living The Way, and the Divine Source sent many different messengers to remind humans how they were supposed to live.  But instead of listening to these messengers and taking to heart their teachings, they elevated the messengers to a position of deity and built religions around them.  Then, as they amassed more and more control, they lost site of The Way.  What resulted is greater intolerance of others, greed and ambition, over community and unconditional goodness.

All we have ever been expected to do is to honor the Divine Source and live The Way.  To take the message into our hearts and manifest it in our lives.  We have been asked to love each other as the Divine loves us.  Yet, what do we do?  We hate, we look down on those we deem inferior, we judge and find others wanting because they don’t match our supposed ideals of what a human should be.  Seriously, who are we to judge?  And the veracity in which we judge others, are we so too judged.

We have been asked to clothe and feed the poor, to aid the sick.  Yet, once again we judge those in need and find them unworthy.  We say they don’t work hard enough.  That if they did, they wouldn’t be in such a position.  We say they deserve everything they are experiencing because it’s some kind of karma.  Judge, judge, judge, judge, judge.  What did Jesus teach?  Judge not, lest ye be judge.

We fight wars over differences in religion, over who’s God is the one true God, over greed, resources, anything one person or country wants that another has, seeking control. It’s all about control, when we should all be sharing what we’ve been blessed with, forming a community, helping each other, lifting each other up, and raising ourselves, our fellow humans, and world to a higher vibrational level that helps all of us, not just a few.  That is The Way.  That is what Jesus spoke of, what he lived.  And he didn’t need a church building to do it.

But don’t believe me.  I know full well, many will question my words.  Find them lacking, because they don’t line up with religious teachings.  It matters not to me, what you think of me.  I was asked to deliver this message and I have done so.  Now, it is up to all of you who read this to determine how it applies to you.  Some may even question how they will know if it does.  Many more will have already stopped reading, believing it doesn’t apply to them.

But for those who do want to figure it all out, see how it may apply to their lives, it is simple really.  You see, we all have the ability to seek out the truth of who the Divine is.  We can’t find it by looking outward.  We find it by sitting quietly, contemplating the Divine, and listening to the small, quiet voice within us.  That voice, our spirit, the piece of the Divine we carry within us, that voice knows.  It knows the Divine is both male and female, God and Goddess.  It knows that all the names religions and humans cling to for God are just that, names, that they all speak of the Universal Energy that binds us together, created us and our worlds, the very Universe itself.  We are all children of the Divine and what we do to each other, we do to ourselves and to the Divine.

The Divine asks, “Will you return to The Way?  Will you walk the path that puts others before yourself?  Will you care for others as I care for you?  Will you let love, compassion, and kindness guide your actions, or will you continue to cling to your greed and selfishness?  Trust in me.  Trust in your inner Knowing.  Let love be your guide.”

Karma

Anyone who walks a “pagan” path has heard the word karma, believes in it.  Most of humanity has heard of Karma and believes in it.  For me personally, I cringe whenever I hear it.  There are reasons why.  Only one is truly important, and that’s the one I’ve been led to share in this message today.

For most, karma means if you do something bad, something bad will happen to you. And, the reverse is believed to be true also; if you do something good, you’ll be rewarded.   It’s a case of what you put out into the Universe, will be visited back upon you.  For example, if you steal from someone, then someone will steal from you, but they will take more than what you originally stole.  Or, if you slander someone, someone will slander you.  I could cite many more examples of what people believe Karma is, but you get the drift.

What makes me truly cringe though, are the ones that love to cite Karma when someone they despise does something wrong.  They are the first ones to say “Oh, Karma’s going to bite him/her in the ass, and I can’t wait to see it.”  They sit with their popcorn in hand, judging the individual, while waiting for Karma to do her duty.

Seriously, when did it become our job to judge others and the path they take?  When did it become a pastime to sit and enjoy another’s misery, no matter the cause?  When did we become, judge, jury, and executioner of others?  Well, I hate to break it to you, but we aren’t. 

And, based on what is believed about Karma, by doing any of that to another, we risk the same being done to us.  Right?  Right?  Think about it.  Based on what most believe Karma to be, our actions dictate what form and severity our Karmic backlash takes.  So, if we sit in judgment and derive pleasure from seeing someone else receive their perceived Karma, then the same will occur with us.

Now, as I stated earlier, one of things revealed to me in meditation is we have the definition of Karma all wrong.  I was asked by the Universe, Divine Source, or whatever you choose to call God/Goddess to share what I was given.  So, here it goes.

Everything in the Universe is made up of the Universal Energy.  What we call the Divine, or God, or Goddess, is this Universal Energy.  We are pieces of this Universal Energy that broke away from the whole.  We sought to live physical lives, and in so doing, we lowered our vibrational rate.  Because of this, we reincarnate again and again to raise our vibrational rate to match the Universal Energy we came from.  Once we do, we can rejoin with it, should we choose.

You are probably asking yourself what this has to do with Karma.  It’s simple.  Karma is us working to raise our vibrational rates.  We do this by how we live our lives.  The more we do good, the more we raise that vibrational rate.  When we do something that causes harm to another, our vibrational rate lowers, and we have to work to bring it up again.  So, when we are “balancing karmic debt”, we are actually trying to bring our vibration level back up to where it was previously.  Once we do that, then we work on raising it more, always trying to return it to its original state of being.

It is true that our vibrational rates are affected by people and situations around us.  It is also true that living in a place that doesn’t match your vibrational rate can affect you.  I am experiencing the latter now.  The baser emotions of anger, greed, contempt, and intolerance of the area have greatly affected me.  Without realizing it, I let my vibrational rate drop.  Now, not only do I have to work to raise it from deeds I did in my past life, I have to bring it back up to where it was originally before I moved to where I am now.  It is hard work, but that is what we incarnate to do, to complete the cycle and return our vibrational rate to one that matches the Universal Energy; the Divine Source.

So, how do we keep from letting the vibrations of a place or others affect ours?  If we can, we move to a place or shed those in our lives who are not good for us.  We align ourselves with a place and people who are closer to the rate we vibrate at.  When we can’t do either, we need to be aware, shield ourselves the best we can, and go on about our business of working on our Spirits.  No one else can do it for us.  Only we can by how we treat those around us, not only people, but all of nature and the planet as well.

Our entire purpose in life is to show kindness and compassion to our fellow world travelers.  It is through this purpose we raise our vibrational rate.  When we raise ours, those we come in contact with are also raised.  When enough of us have increased our vibrations, we affect the world around us.  This, this is the entire purpose of Karma.

So, that, my friends, is the message from the Universe I was given to share.  I hope it helps.  Until next time…

Unconditional Goodness

Lately, I’ve pulled out some of my non-fiction books regarding spirituality and have been reading them.  I’ve been continually amazed at how much I did not retain from my first reading of them back in 2006.  I’ve also been amazed at how far from my path I’ve strayed since returning to Florida to care for my disabled brother.  I’ve let life circumstances and other things dictate my reactions, instead of going Within, finding the proper solutions, and moving forward in Acceptance and Trust.

Two of the books I read over the last couple of days, discussed the concept of Unconditional Goodness.  We’ve all heard talk of Unconditional Love, but Unconditional Goodness was a new one to me, and I’m shocked the concept didn’t take root back in 2006.  Then again, I may not have been ready for such an idea to take hold.  Still, all that matters is I get it now and have been led to share with everyone who takes the time to read this rambling discourse.

As most understand it, Unconditional Love is the concept of loving others without any expectation in return.  It’s a beautiful idea, but if we’re totally honest with ourselves, one we have a hard time achieving.  It’s hard to let go of expectations and judgments, both of which lead to strings to our love.  We expect perfection, when the human, physical condition is far from perfect.

Another issue with Unconditional Love is we can love someone, yet still not lift a finger to assist another.  We rationalize why we shouldn’t, and pat ourselves on the back that we still love them in spite of their flaws.  But what does that do to help others or our world?  Not a damn thing.

Unconditional Goodness, on the other hand, is the concept of doing for others without any rational thought as to why.  We see someone cold and give them a coat.  We see someone hungry, and we offer them food.  We see someone broke down on the side of the road, and we stop to help.  All without thinking if we should or what we could get out of it.  It is kindness and compassion without strings.

Sure, at first, we can and do harbor expectations as to our kind acts.  But over time, as we continue to do good things, continue to show kindness and compassion, we lose our expectations (or we should, anyway), and do because it is the right thing to do, without any thought of ourselves.  This then, is Unconditional Goodness, and I believe goes leads to, then goes hand in hand with Unconditional Love. 

Unconditional Goodness can raise the vibration of ourselves, those we help, and the entire planet.  When vibratory rates rise, the baser emotions of greed, anger, hatred, and intolerance start to lose their grip.  Love begins to trump hate.  Compassion and kindness begins to trump greed and anger, and only then, can peace emerge.  Isn’t that the kind of world we want to live in, to leave to our children and grandchildren?

So, this is my goal, to live the rest of my life in Unconditional Kindness, to do what I can for others with no expectations attached.  Will you join me?
