Room to Breathe

I woke up with words flowing through my mind this morning.  Imagine my surprise to find the words to be a new poem.  It has been many months since I have written poetry.  I will probably include it in my next book in the Modern-Day Witch series.  But, until that book is finished and published, I will share my latest creation here.  Enjoy!

Room to Breathe

Dark thoughts running through my mind.

The walls are closing in.

Let me out, Let me out,

I just need room to breathe.

Struggle after struggle.

Wasn’t life supposed to be a breeze?

I can’t get enough air in my lungs.

I just need room to breathe.

Caught in the crush of the crowd.

Swallowed up in a sea of strangers.

The air gets close and tight.

I just need room to breathe.

Give me open spaces.

Give me peace and love.

Leave me be in this quiet oasis.

I just need room to breathe.
